Modeling + Lighting Exterior Environments

I created an exterior scene of an alleyway in early morning using lighting techniques within Maya. The main theme I had was the feeling of waking up before your alarm. I modeled and placed a frame in front of the camera to add to the feeling of being inside. I also pushed the DOF for a more hazy, weird morning.
After rendering, I composited in Nuke to add a bit of lens distortion, and chromatic aberration to increase the feeling of not being fully awake.
Here are my references for this scene. I love the photographer, Thomas Jordan, who originally inspired this project. His photographs have a liminal, nostalgic feeling that I really wanted to capture in my own shot.
